Príncipe Harry e Oprah se juntam para série sobre saúde mental

Produção deve estrear em 2020 na Apple TV+, serviço de streaming da empresa de tecnologia

O príncipe Harry, sexto na linha de sucessão ao trono britânico, anunciou nesta quarta-feira, 10, que vai se juntar à apresentadora americana Oprah Winfrey para produzir uma série documental sobre saúde mental para a Apple TV+, o novo serviço de streaming da Apple. A produção deve estrear em 2020.

We are excited to announce that The Duke of Sussex and Oprah Winfrey are partners, co-creators and executive producers on their forthcoming mental health series launching on Apple in 2020. The pair have been developing the series for several months and are looking forward to sharing such an important project on this global platform. The dynamic multi-part documentary series will focus on both mental illness and mental wellness, inspiring viewers to have an honest conversation about the challenges each of us faces, and how to equip ourselves with the tools to not simply survive, but to thrive. This commitment builds on The Duke of Sussex’s long-standing work on issues and initiatives regarding mental health, where he has candidly shared personal experience and advocated for those who silently suffer, empowering them to get the help and support they deserve. His Royal Highness has spent many years working with communities throughout the UK and young people across the Commonwealth to break the stigma surrounding mental illness and broaden the conversation of mental wellness to accelerate change for a more compassionate, connected and positive society. “Eu realmente acredito que uma boa saúde mental é a chave para uma liderança poderosa, comunidades produtivas e uma vida cheia de propósito”, afirmou o duque de Sussex em sua conta oficial no Instagram. “Nossa esperança é que esta série seja positiva, iluminadora e inclusiva – compartilhando histórias globais do espírito humano lutando contra a escuridão, e a oportunidade de entendermos a nós mesmos e àqueles que nos rodeiam melhor.”

Esta não é a primeira vez que Harry fala sobre o assunto. Em entrevista ao jornal The Telegraph em 2017, ele compartilhou sua experiência pessoal e admitiu ter estado “muito próximo de um colapso completo em várias ocasiões” desde a morte de sua mãe, a princesa Diana, em 1997.

O príncipe ficou conhecido por trabalhar com diversas organizações ao redor do mundo em prol da saúde mental, como a Heads Together, em conjunto com seu irmão, o príncipe William, e a cunhada, Kate Middleton.
