Neil Patrick Harris
Esta manhã a Academy of Television Arts & Sciences anunciou os indicados ao prêmio Emmy deste ano.
O anúncio seria feito por Kate Mara (House of Cards) e Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), mas a atriz não compareceu (o avião que a levaria para Los Angeles teve problemas técnicos). Desta forma, o anúncio foi feito por Aaron e Neil Patrick Harris (How I Met Your Mother), que será o mestre de cerimônias do Emmy no dia 22 de setembro.
Nos EUA, a cerimônia de entrega do prêmio será exibida pela rede CBS. No Brasil, ela será transmitida pelo canal a cabo Warner. Os prêmios para as categorias técnicas (que nos EUA são conhecidas como creative arts) serão entregues em uma cerimônia anterior, que será realizada no dia 15 de setembro, com transmissão no dia 21 pelo canal FXX, nos EUA.
Como já era esperado, House of Cards garantiu uma indicação na categoria melhor série dramática (bem como na de atores).
Com isso, temos pela primeira vez no Emmy uma série que não foi produzida para a TV, mas para a Internet, mais precisamente para o site de streaming Netflix, concorrendo numa categoria importante. Se sair vencedora, a série abrirá um precedente para outras produções com a mesma origem, tal qual ocorreu quando Sex and the City e A Família Soprano/The Sopranos levaram o prêmio de melhor série cômica e de série dramática pela primeira vez, representando a TV a cabo (muito embora Telefilmes/Minisséries produzidas para canais pagos já tivessem ‘furado o cerco’).
Lamentavelmente Rectify, primeira série do Sundance Channel, e Enlightened, belíssima dramédia da HBO, não conseguiram indicações nas categorias de melhores produções. Restou para o Sundance a indicação da minissérie Top of The Lake, coprodução da BBC.
Entre os atores, temos uma indicação para Morena Baccarin, que está no elenco de Homeland. Pelo que me recordo, ela é a segunda atriz brasileira a ser indicada a um prêmio Emmy (excluindo as indicações ao Emmy Internacional). Em 1995 Sônia Braga foi indicada ao prêmio de melhor atriz pelo telefilme Amazônia em Chamas/The Burning Season, perdendo para Shirley Knight.
