O Som e a Fúria

Com gritos de “Viva a música latina”, o cantor Bad Bunny abriu a cerimônia do Grammy neste domingo, 5, marcando a edição mais diversa da história da premiação. O artista fez história com a indicação de Un Verano Sin Ti, o primeiro disco totalmente em espanhol a ser indicado na categoria de álbum do ano em 65 anos de Grammy. Ele também foi indicado na categoria de melhor perfomance solo pop e levou o gramofone de melhor música urbana – e fez seu discurso de vitória todo em espanhol.

A diversidade também esteve presente na vitória de Kim Petras e Sam Smith com a música Unholy na categoria melhor performance pop solo ou grupo. Kim é a a primeira artista trans a ganhar a estatueta e Smith é um artista não-binário. A cantora country Brandi Carlile engrossou a lista de diversidade. Sua esposa e as duas filhas do casal apresentaram o show de Brandi, que fez uma performance durante a premiação e ainda levou para casa três gramofones.

A VEJA, o presidente do Grammy, Harvey Mason Jr. destacou que a diversidade na premiação foi uma das principais diretrizes da sua administração com a inclusão de artistas de várias matizes entre os membros votantes da Academia.

A cantora Beyoncé, que liderou o Grammy com nove indicações, ganhou quatro troféus e bateu o recorde de maior vencedora da premiação de todos os tempos, chegando a marca de 32 Grammys, superando o maestro Georg Solti, com 31 troféus. A cantora, aliás, chegou atrasada à cerimônia, segundo o apresentador Trevor Noah, porque estava “presa no trânsito”. O principal prêmio da noite, no entanto, foi para Harry Styles, que levou o gramofone de Álbum do Ano por Harry’s House.

A atriz Viola Davis venceu na categoria melhor audiolivro, narração ou gravação narrativa, pelo trabalho com Finding Me, a sua autobiografia. Com este prêmio, Viola entra para o seleto grupo dos Egot, acrônimo para os prêmios Emmy, Grammy, Oscar e Tony. O roqueiro Ozzy Osbourne também ganhou, na categoria melhor performance de heavy metal com a música Degradation Rules, e também melhor álbum de rock, com Patient Number 9.

O Brasil foi representado pelo quarteto carioca Boca Livre, que ganhou o Grammy de melhor álbum pop latino por Pasieros, gravado em parceria com o cantor panamenho Ruben Bladés. A cantora Anitta também esteve presente, indicada na categoria de revelação, mas o prêmio foi para a cantora novaiorquina de jazz Samara Joy.
